Anti-Image creates an interesting view into the contemporary struggle about the image. The exhibition presents artists who regularly seek the confrontation with the public.
Anti-Image disturbs, fascinates, repels and by all means generates discussion. Globalization has lead to an increasing production and shorter life of images, which is resulting in more and more controversies about images. This raises questions about the meaning and function of art in general. The question of what the artist can still add to our image overloaded world is therefore a very current one.
Anti-Image is an exhibition about a visual strategy in which the role of art and artist in society is put on edge.
